Brewery Gulch Inn, Mendocino, California

August 11 - 6:30pm

After the 116 degrees of Death Valley, the 56 degrees of misty coastal Mendocino were a bit of a shock to the system, but also a relief. As were this absolutely delicious light meal provided by the B&B's chef and their selection of local wines.

D. wanted me to post a picture of their delicious Meyer Lemon and Key Lime Pie, but by the time I got the camera out, it had mysteriously disappeared...

Looks like you are having a great roadtrip. I don't know about that heat (whew) but the sceneryis great. Interesting food choices at times! The small towns are often lacking - at least it is so in the smaller, northern towns of B.C. I speak from experience. Sometimes the only safe thing to order is a hamburger and that's not safe!

Rosa - Indeed. I could easily have stayed there a week!

Cicero - Yea, I wasn't too excited about the heat either, but in the end, we drank lots of water, wore hats, went out for short periods of time and really appreciated the scenery, so it was all right. You're right - and like a good foodie, I keep snack and picnic stuff in the our cooler in case there's no good food along the way :-)
